Nymax™
PolyOne’s broad Nymax™ line of crystalline nylon compounds features standard and custom-compounded Nylon 6, Nylon 6/6 and other nylon copolymer grades combined with a wide range of reinforcements, modifiers and fillers. The Nymax custom nylon product line allows design engineers to tailor their material selections based on the demands of the application, and cost and performance constraints.
Key Characteristics
Nymax nylons enhance basic nylon through:
- Stiffness/durability/impact resistance
- Select UL approvals
- Chemical and fire resistance
- High tensile strength
- Weatherability
- Processability
Additional Product Information
Nymax compounds are made using both Nylon 6 and Nylon 6/6 grades to provide a good balance of properties. In addition, Nylon 6 offers a lustrous finish while Nylon 6/6 is designed for high-temperature performance. Many grades can be critically color-matched, and a variety of grades have automotive, NSF or FDA approval. Nymax nylon compounds are available in natural, black and custom-made colors.
Nymax compounds are a top choice for applications in the transportation, electrical and electronic, and consumer industries.
Bergamid™
Because of their excellent overall thermal and mechanical properties with a very good cost/performance ratio, Bergamid™ PA compounds find extensive use in the transportation, household appliance and electrical and electronic industries.
Key Characteristics
The characteristic properties of Bergamid compounds are:
- Excellent balance of stiffness/toughness
- High mechanical strength
- Good electrical properties
- Good chemical resistance
- Good abrasion and friction resistance.
Additional Product Information
In terms of chemical structure, Bergamid PA compounds are subdivided into three categories:
- Bergamid A (PA 66)
- Bergamid B (PA 6)
- Bergamid AB (PA 66/6 copolymer)
Bergamid 6 compounds are stiff even at low temperatures, whereas Bergamid 6/6 compounds possess the greatest hardness, rigidity and resistance to abrasion.
Available in glass-, mineral-, and mixed-filler, flame retardant (including halogen- and phosphorus-free) grades with UL listings as well as impact-modified grades.
